Answering the call of NJ's growing field of female wrestlers, area coaches came together in the fall of 2023 to launch the JGWL - a (k-8) developmental league focused on facilitating experience-appropriate opportunities for female athletes, and growing the sport of girls wrestling.

• JGWL is open to athletes and teams (k-8) in NJ and the surrounding area and is a not for profit league, operating under the BaseCamp 31 501 c 3 not for profit organization and governed by a board of directors made up of representatives from the founding teams

• There is no fee to participate in the 2023-2024 season

• Teams DO NOT need to have a full roster - wrestlers will be matched up weekly (by the JGWL) based on reported age, weight, and experience.  A "modified madison system" will be implemented.

• "Free Agents" (wrestlers not attached to a specific team) will be welcomed on a case by case basis, with match preferences given to wrestlers from participating JGWL teams.

• Teams participating in the league may serve as "host-sites", with each team having the opportunity to host matches at least one weekend per season, and paying for all associated fees (facilities, referees, safety).  Coaches who may wish to join as a host site,  or for other general questions, inquire here.

STEP 1: INDIVIDUAL ATHLETE REGISTERATION

• Each Team Coach / Athlete Representative must register their athletes prior to 1/5/24 by using THIS LEAGUE REGISTRATION FORM

STEP 2: REVIEW SCHEDULE & SIGN-UP - once completing league registration, athletes will become eligible for league matches and will be listed in the match sign-up form(s) linked for each match as they become available below.

STEP 3: STAY IN THE LOOP ON EXPECTATIONS

• All parents / guardians / representative of participating wrestlers:​

1. Must Sign-Up on the match sign-up form (to be linked above when available) for each Dual Meet weekly by 11:59p on the Wednesday preceding the match.

2. Can sign-up to participate in one, some or all of the available matches.

3. Must Notify the league by emailing here if you are unable to attend the match you have signed up for, no later than Thursday 11:59p preceding match day.​

4. Should understand that if a match get cancelled or changed for any reason, a league representative will provide advanced notice.
